A: Oliver + S Sketchbook shirt - dog in truck (2013)
Made this in the short sleeved version in this neat fabric that had blue trucks on it...with a dog riding in the back. He even wore it for school photos!
Fabric: Quilting cotton from Out of Hand in Calgary
Pattern: Oliver + S sketchbook shirt + shorts

I: Oliver + S After School Shirt (2013)
Oh how I loved sewing this up. The fabric is such a smooth cotton being an Art Gallery print. Fabric from Periwinkle Quiliting and the cute buttons are from Prairie Chicks.

A: Flanel PJ bottoms & top (2013)
These PJ bottoms are very well loved - and needed daring poses to go along with them!
Fabric: Flannelette from Unique Textile and white knit from stash - some odd ribbed nylon/poly mix
Patterns: Top - Kwik Sew 3234 & Bottoms - Kwik Sew 3042

I: Pinky Oliver + S top & skirt (2013)
My daughter loves pink and skirts. So it was no problem to whip up these super-fast and east pieces to make a great outfit.
Top is made from leftover cotton-poly knit from my stash. Really soft and perfect for Imogen -- the color too. The skirt is a twill from my stash from Fabricland. It was a flawed piece with blotches on it, but this skirt is just the right size to fit it around. Trim was added as it didn't look done - found it at Periwinkle Quilting in Saskatoon.

Birthday Gift | Pirate Loot for Josh (2013)
Imogen's friend Josh was having a pirate themed party last summer and I helped his mum do up bandannas for the kids. There was some leftover fabric so I got to make up a bag, tissue holder and coin purse. Really fun as skulls glow in the dark!
P2 - Breast Cancer Journey
Well it's been a bit of time. I didn't post anything more as I'm quite tired of the whole cancer experience! Heck who wouldn't.
So I've decided to let it be, so I can move on with my life and the things that I love to do and fill me up with joy - family, sewing, reading, activities.
To wrap up where I left off last time, I ended up getting another two surgeries. First was the swap of the 'spacer' for the permanent implant. Very round and high is all I can say -- like I'm 18 again!
Then I had one more MRI to ensure all the cancer was gone, before having the left side reduced to match my new right breast. It was almost a year of having one side double the size of the other. I dressed carefully - thank goodness scarves are so popular.
I'm feeling great and enjoying being a D-cup (it's been a few years) and shopping off the rack. It's also much easier to sew without so many alterations. Back to running...and back to blogging. Let's get this blog back on it's feet documenting my love of sewing!!!
